  • Group Counseling

Group counseling can be an invaluable experience. Often individuals think they are alone in their struggles and believe they cannot talk to others due to shame or fear they will be judged or misunderstood. Group counseling offers a safe space to speak openly about problems and to listen to others going through similar things. It helps a person know they are not alone. It also allows an individual to gain perspective on their situation and develop coping strategies. Group sessions are led by Dr. McCune Shyver who provides education and specific strategies for managing various conditions. Group sessions meet weekly and are comprised of approximately 10 individuals going through similar issues. The following group counseling sessions are provided on an ongoing basis or at set times throughout each year:

    • Adults with Anorexia and Bulimia
    • Adults with Binge Eating Disorder
    • Adolescents with Binge Eating Disorder
    • Adolescents Coping with Depression
